We mentioned that we wanted talent choices to feel more flavorful and fun, yet. A lot of the listed games have talent trees because they were in Diablo and WoW, not necessarily because that specific implementation was a good idea. Blizzard having lived with that design for a while realised it didn't necessarily serve it's purpose and worse cut across one of it's design principals which is easy to learn difficult to master.
