Use that large socket from earlier, placed between the jack pad and the bushing, to push the bushing/subframe in to position the rest of the way. - Reinstall the plate, 22mm nut and 2 allen bolts.
Done! No special tools, no need to remove the subframe or diff from the car. I can do subframe bushings in about 60 minutes this way. BMW e30 rear subframe bushing removel and install.

I actually made a similar tool, but as I Frybrid mentioned the E28 trailing arm bushings are different in design from the E Whereas the E30 bushing is all rubber, the E28 bushing is a metal shell encased in rubber, with a long metal bolt housing in the middle.
It is more similar to a an E28 subframe bushing.
